About Vote Roll?VoteRoll was launched on 26th September 2010. Voteroll is a beta Experiment Project that provides a web function to create topics for online votes.
Why Vote Roll?Although online voting is not typically original Vote Roll is aimed to be in focus and topical with the sites name. Our voting algorithm and technology has been designed to improve, speed-up and process online voting campaigns. Voteroll will provide a web function to vote online on a broad range of topics.
VoteRoll and Voting systemsVoteRoll is an experiment voting system, we are working on the algorithm to generate accurate vote information. VoteRoll is a beta developed online app and may not be classed as a primary source for information in the experiment phase.
IP systemsVoteRoll uses a strict IP system, which means that if you share an IP address such as from an open network office you could be blocked from accessing the VoteRoll system. We are always looking at ways to open the doors to more voters and users.
Voting systemsThere are many types of voting systems in use today and many unique voting systems have been developed for a single purpose.
Standard or Plurality:
Offers individual votes and is a commonly used voting system in democracies throughout the world. It is simply one person, one vote and serves well when there are two or a selections of candidates.
Rank Voting a.k.a (Borda Count method):
Voters rank in points on a scale selection according to desirability. For example 9 is most, while 1 is the least.
Cumulative Voting is often used by corporate firms for branding, etc. Voter have a set amount of votes points to apply to the various answer selections as they wish. i.e. Total of 9 points
Approval voting is similar to an election vote. It allows each voter to vote for any selections that they feel are acceptable the candidate with the most votes wins the election. This tends to remove undesirable or unpopular selections from contention.
